A friend of mine recently brought me a cake her mom made. I have heard about these cakes for about three months, and finally, I got to see it first hand and sample it. I believe it is Vietnamese and it is a work of beauty. When cooking, plating ensures that your food sets the right first impression. In baking, it takes it to another level, especially when you can see the mastery of the baker. For your viewing pleasure, I share with you Hahn’s mom’s creation. It had a very unique texture. I understand the base is made from a seaweed (although no seaweed taste was apparent). It was really ‘fresh’ and clean. A delightful new find and something I would recommend you searching out. I know Heather W. wants to see a business model around these cakes and I now see why.
